Rev. Kenneth Miller grew up in the Evergreen Community in Dorsey, Mississippi. He graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School in May 1997. Afterward, he attended Itawamba Community College (ICC). At ICC, he played football for two years and received a Certificate in Welding and
Cutting Technology. He started his ministry at Friendship Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME) located in Dorsey, MS under the leadership of Rev. Patrick Head Sr. During those years, he served as an usher, steward in training, and the president of the young adult choir. Later, he received his calling to preach at the age of 23.
Immediately, after receiving his calling, he began to prepare himself for ministry by attending Elias Cottrell Institute at Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church in Tupelo, Mississippi. During those years at Elias Cottrell, he studied sermon preparation, C.M.E. polity, and black theology, and he grew as a pastor and preacher. Later, he returned to ICC to receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice. Then, he transferred to the University of Mississippi to better prepare himself for ministry. In 2012, he graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice. In December 2021, Pastor Miller completed a Master of Divinity degree from Memphis Theology Seminary. Now, he is pursuing his doctoral degree in Community Witness and Social Justice.
Last but not least, Rev. Kenneth Miller has been married to Melanie Miller for over 22 years. In addition, over the past 15 years, he has had the opportunity to pastor five great churches Danville C.M.E. Church in Rienzi, MS, Clear Springs C.M.E. Church in Big Creek, MS, Chandlers Temple C.M.E. Church in Verona, MS, and Poplar C.M.E. Church in Saltillo, MS. Now, he is the proud pastor of our historical church in Los Angeles. Finally, over the years, Pastor Miller has truly learned a lot and looking forward to learning more. Most importantly, he loves to preach God’s word and help people have a relationship with God.
Sister Melanie Miller grew up in the Dorsey Community in Dorsey, Mississippi. She grew up at the Friendship Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME) located in Dorsey, MS. During her time at Friendship he served as a stewardess and sang in the choir. Lady Miller graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton, MS in May 1996. Afterward, she graduated from Itawamba Community College. At ICC, she received an Associate of Arts degree in Business Education. Later, she received her AA degree in Elementary Education. Then, she transferred to the University of Mississippi. In 2015, she graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor's in General Studies. Now, she is waiting to complete her Master of Teaching Arts degree from William Carey University.
Sister Melanie Miller has been married to Kenneth Miller for over 22 years. As a First Lady, she has supported our pastor for the past 15 years. Pastor Miller stated, "Lady Miller has been a tremendous help to our ministry." As a church, we must say she is a tremendous help to our church and we are blessed to have her as a First Lady
